CCV Artwork and Poetry

Parents think there always right,
Children seem to always fight,
Dogs and cats they sometimes bite,

Everybody has a flaw
Except for God who made us all.

Path of Worship

I walk down broken road, gravel beneath my feet.

Whitetail deer behind fence on left,

Brown prairie grass dancing from warm, dusty breeze on other side.

I enter old farmyard and look for path that draws me into worship, For it is God I desperately seek.

Holy Spirit, walk with me toward trail that calls forth the poem of my heart.

Whisper in my ear, breath of life, prompt me toward narrow road.

Shall it be canopy of trees where leaves shade, and cover me with grace?

Where soft, green moss cushions my knees and Draws nagging guilt from my spinning mind through gentle prayer?

Might I need to walk in faith toward cool lake, conquer fear, Cry out for your forgiveness, and plunge deep beneath cleansing water?

Help me Holy Spirit to receive freedom from that which empties me.

Will I follow my heart to the old sturdy pines, walk on brown, dead needles of my past And lay at foot of tree the ashes burned and gathered so long ago?

Holy God keep my mind form climbing height of tree, Searching for reason to escape this offering.

Spirit, walk with me toward trail that calls forth the poem of my heart.

Whisper in my ear, breath of life.

I walk back down broken road, gravel beneath my feet.

Whitetail deer behind fence on right,

Brown prairie grass dancing from warm, dusty breeze on other side.

If God ministers to you through one of the poems or one of the works of art, tell us about it!  God often uses the arts to speak to us.
