Link Central

At CCV all ministry is done through links.  Links are basically relationships where God can minister to and through us, His children, to shine His light into the darkness of our world.  Our links embody our church's Vision to Love God Passionately, Love Each Other Deeply and Love Our World to Jesus.  Our links are divided into three types: Target Links, Focus Links, and World Outreach Ministry Links.

Focus Links are those relationships that build the base of ministry at CCV.  For instance, our Elder meetings are considered an Elder's Link.  Our Student Ministries leaders are considered their own link, as is Worship Team, Setup, Children's Ministry and so on.

Target Links are those that geared to reach and minister to a specific group of people.  We have a Ladies Link, a Marriage Link, a Link for New People at CCV (called the "Welcome to Links - Link"), and Home Links.  There is really no end to the possibilities of what a link can be.  People who love jogging could begin a ministry to the jogging community and start a Jogging Link.  People who love woodworking could begin to use their passion to create a woodworking link.  We think that a person's passion may well be that thing that God is preparing in them to passionately minister to the world around them.

World Outreach Ministry Links are those groups that minister to people outside of the ministry of CCV.  It could be the local jail ministry, it could me a group of people who are planning a short term missions trip, it could be a missionary who ministers in a far away land.  The World Outreach Ministry links the people of CCV to what God is doing in the world around us.

Getting involved in a link is as easy as stepping up to our Welcome Center table on Sunday morning.  There you will find info cards that tell you important facts about our links such as where they meet, when they meet, what the link is about (ex. a study group, a prayer group, a ministry group etc.) and contact info about the link leader.  You can call the link leader or the CCV office for more information.

If you have a desire to make the passion of your heart into a light that shines into the darkness of the world around you, then you might want to consider becomming a link leader.  A link leader is a comitted Christian, a baptized member of CCV, and has taken the Discipleship 101, 201 and 401 classes.  These classes are offered throughout the year, so check with the Welcome Center Attendant about when they are scheduled.  You can also check the class section of your welcome slip and hand it in during the offering.   If you want to contribute but haven't taken all of the necessary classes, you could get involved in a link and inquire about becoming a link intern.  As you apprentice into leadership you will be learning important skills that you can use in your own link when you complete the required member steps.
