Growing up in Christ is God's plan for every believer!  Because of that, discipleship is a key part of our ministry here at CCV. The baseball diamond to the right pictures our strategy for discipleship.  We believe God's plan is for every follower of Jesus to hit a home run!  Below is a short explanation of each base and the Empowerment Track opportunities associated with it.

Hitting the Ball

A person begins the journey of discipleship when they receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and are baptized into Him. 

First Base

First Base is all about helping each believer get connected and find that cell group where they can make those all important friendships. 

Connections

Connections happens from September to May each year during our first service on Sunday mornings.  This is a great time to get connected and find a cell group.  During this time we offer various discipleship classes and opportunities to "test drive" a small group.

Discipleship 101

Discipleship 101 is designed for those just coming into CCV.  This class covers our beliefs, vision, and ministry as a church.  This is a great place to get started on your journey to discipleship and is required for membership at CCV.

Second Base

At Second Base we really get focused in on growing deeper in our walk with Christ.  Here it is important for the believer to have opportunities to interact with other believers and the Holy Spirit as they discover God's greater heart for them and His plan for their lives.

Discipleship 201: Knowing What You Believe

Discipleship 201 is designed to ground you in the basic core truths at the heart of God's Word.  This is a great class for both the growing disciple and a great review for the older disciple.  Here we cover such things as the authority of the Bible, Salvation, Spiritual Warfare, and the doctrine of the Holy Spirit.

The Encounter

Our Encounter Retreats are held each year for both men and women.  These are times to get away and meet in a powerful way with God.  Here you will have strongholds broken off of your life, receive empowerment from the Holy Spirit, and gain a clearer perspective on God's passion and vision for your life.

Third Base

At third base it is vital that each believer receive some foundational equipping for kingdom ministry. 

Discipleship 301

Discipleship 301 is our Empowerment Track course for third base.  It is generally offered once or twice a year.  We believe it is essential that each believer receive equipping in three basic areas of ministry, and so in 301 we focus on these areas:  Evangelism, Spiritual Warfare, and Prayer.

Home Plate

Just as each child comes to a place of maturity and leaves home to make their mark on the world, so it is spiritually.  There comes a time for each believer to leave the nest and open up their own cell group ministry through which to grab some hands and touch some lives for Christ.  Home Plate is all about coming to that time where you become a powerful vessel for the Lord as he touches lives through you.

Discipleship 401

Discipleship 401 is what we call our "Leadership Basic Training."  Here you will receive training to lead a cell group in one of our many ministries here at CCV.
